Word 2000 Function Buttons

How do you activate Microsoft Word Buttons. For example, if I insert a drop down menu, how do I get it to actually run. It just sits there static like an image.
Do I have to somewhat publish the document when its all over.

If you use control elements from the Toolbox bar, you need to link code to the control to actually have it do something.

For Forms, the section in which you used the control must be protected. If all else is in place and you just forget to turn protection on, nothing will work.
