I would really like to be involved with the Definity product but do not know where to begin.
Is there a roadmap for this product?
Is there more than one Definity programming interface
i.e.If you can programme one you can programme them all?
I already work with the Avaya IP Office as well as many others
I don't know whether to train/get involved with Definity,Meridian or Mitel3300?
Help!

I personally would not be the one you should listen to but i started here in March. Completely new to the world of telecommunications. I absolutely love the way the operating system on the Definity switches is. One good reason is if you are having trouble remembering commands you can always hit the help key to display you choices. The only downside i see is Avaya likes to keep a tight wrap on the features you are allowed to have. Some if not most of them have to be purchased seperately or as a pack. For example maitenance commands. A way to familiarize yourself with the definity is to pick up a pack of books called The little instruciton box. You can download this on avaya.com.

And the one that NX01 helped me out with was the actual "Little Instruction Books" They are GREAT!!! I eventually found the hard copies of these books. They were boxed up by the admin that had work on the system before me. anyway, A MUST read for getting started.

First, find out what version you are running. Do a "disp sys cust" (without quotes) in terminal. Here are a few links to give you a overview of some of the more common features used.
