I have an interview at a client's this week and am doing some homework into the structure of their site. The site has shtml file extension. I can't find information anywhere about shtml, what it looks like or does. Can someone point me to some good informative resources?

Thanks!

Hi mate,

shtml is the extension normally set-up to tell the server that the file has SSI (Server Side Includes) directives and that it needs to be parsed for them.

Check out for a beginners guide.

Hope this helps Wullie
