Hi!

For my new application I want to use CHM help-files.
What is (pricewise) a good application?
Robohelp seems very good but, as I do just a few applications, not low-cost.
Any advise?

Hi Bart,

The West Wind Help Builder ( is $300. I don't the price of RoboHelp - is this a better price?

I had a go with a trial version once and it seemed pretty good.

Hope that helps,

Stewart

Bart,

I agree with Stewart's suggestion re West Wind. It's especially good if you want to create technical documentation. For example, it lets you import database schema directly into a help topic, which I find very useful.

That said, my own preference is for the Help & Manual authoring tool ( A client asked me to use it on a project a couple of years ago, and I have happily used it on other project since. However, I don't think it's low-cost - about EUR 300, if I remember right.

Mike
