The web server where we keep all of our crystal web reports locked up the other day, and after rebooting, the web reports will no longer launch in the java applet. When you click the report from our Intranet, it tries to download the actual report to the machine. I've restarted all the services, and everything seems to be fine. There have been a lot of hands in the pot, so I'm not sure if someone has made a change or not. If anyone has an idea what I can check, I would greatly appreciate it.

The viewer is user based, so create another user and under preferences, select Active-X for that user.

Does it now work?

You may have something corrupt in the Java, or it may be that Crystal is no longer handling the requests properly, etc.

I ALWAYS restart the machine (not just the services) at the point you are at, this often resolves problems.

If not, there are lots of possibilities, I'd probably back things up and reinstall the CE software, then restore the reports/Infostore.

Thanks for the tip... We just got if fixed by re-applying the NT service pack. It's amazing what reinstalling the service pack will fix.

thanks
