I am trying to format brand new Travan tapes in a Seagate tape drive and the problem is, some format OK and some give the warning 1316. It says the tape is Read Only. They are not set that way and since they are new right out of the wrapping they should not be set that way. I ran one through Microsoft device manager and it prepared the tape and put it in the Free Media pool so it doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the tape. Any suggestions?
