VPN Setup problem

Hi
I have a Checkpoint VPN-1 Edge X.
I have gone to the VPN section and ticked the Allow Securemote users to connect and ticked the Allow L2TP clients to connect. I have also ticked Bypass default firewall policy.
I have created a user with VPN access permission.
I have connected a laptop to the internet from a different location and tried to connect using SecureClient (Created new site) and L2TP but with no success. Just seems to time out.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious because this is the first time I have configured something like this

Well, I got the VPN to connect. I downloaded an up to date version of the Secure Remote client.
Trouble is I can't seem to access any resources from the VPN client. I can't even ping anything.
I can ping the VPN client from the Host on the Lan though.
