I have a weird one that I need help with. We have a IP550 rls. 7 that has 7 or 8 VPN phones connected to it. The phones will work for a day or 2 then drop, the monitor H323 status shows them off line. If I ping from the IPO to the Cisco the phones start to work again, if I ping from the Cisco FW to the IPO they do not. When they are down the IT provider says that they are seeing the VPN connected and sending H323 requests to the IPO but not getting a response. The IPO on the other hand does not see any H323 traffic till I initiate the ping from the LAN 1 port via SSA. Does anyone have any ideas, we are scheduled to go onsite to change to the LAN 2 port to see if that will fix it.
Thanks Mike

That is what I figure but what piece is the issue. You know the story "IT dept everything else is working it is just the phones, It is not our problem as it is fixed when they ping" I am not a network person so I can't point to the issue.

Run System monitor traces. and show it when its happening.. What type of LAN switches does the sets connect to???? POE???? Are the set in a discover mode or just blank/frozen. Pinging the Gateway wakes up the sets???

not sure of the network switch I will find out. Pinging the gateway wakes the VPN sets which are the only IP sets on the network.
