I have just implemented a PIX 515E firewall, in an associate company office, but I am now having problems connecting to our network using W2k PPTP VPN solution.
I am getting the following error on the PIX:
'regular translation creation failed for protocol 47 src inside:192.168.x.x dst outside:155.229.204.x'. This is my 1st PIX implementation. Does this mean I have to permit protocol 47 to access the 192.168.212.x network?
Here is the current config file on the PIX.

I also need to remove the following lines from the config:
aaa-server partnerauth protocol radius
aaa-server partnerauth (inside) host 172.18.124.196 cisco123 timeout 5
crypto map mymap client authentication partnerauth

I tried prefixing the commands with a no, but that did not seem to help.

Thank you in advance for your help.

What statements are required to allow a VPN inbound past my Cisco PIX?

The following example is a simple PPTP access list:

access-list 110 permit tcp any host x.x.x.x eq 1723
access-list 110 permit gre any host x.x.x.x

I tried the command, specifying the VPN server for the x.x.x.x and that did not work. I have been told by someone that since I am using PAT, it will not work. Is this true anyone?

You will need to enable fixup protocol pptp 1723 which is availabel starting on 6.3.1. Hope this helps!

You´re welcome guys! I am glad I was able to help.
