VMPro truncates last 5 or so seconds of message 1

After recently upgrading our shop system to 4.0 I've come across a glitch that I can;t seem to find an easy solution for... When an external caller leaves a VM in someone's mailbox, the last 5 seconds or so are cut off - from every message in every mailbox. Of course, a typical message's last 5 seconds or so are the last 4 - 6 digits of someone's phone number.

Debug shows everything is OK, have restarted services, rebooted, etc. I'm stumped.

Read the section on VM_TRUNCATE_TIME= here:

Is mean to be an override to the systems normal default behaviour but as you've discovered the default behaviour seems to have changed in 4.0.

Note: After entering a value you will need to reboot the IP Office.

Sizbut, you are the MAN (or woMAN if that's the case.)

That was exactly the issue. I suspect you are also correct that the "default" has been changed to something that is less than desireable. Interesting since I don;t think the disconnect times have been changed by telco providers... maybe AVAYA knows something we don't.

Thanks again.

I have a ticket open with Avaya on this issue...

I am going to change my VM_TRUNCATE_TIME value and I bet the problem will go away.

DJRabin -- what value did you put in? 0?

I put in "0", merged, and then had to restart the VMPro services.

Tested - and it worked.

Kudos again to Sizbut for knowing the documentation.

I've been having this problem as well, however I don't have individual user mailboxes, I have a mailbox for the hunt group. Any ideas on how to change this setting for the hunt group?

J.

As far as I can tell from the documentation, this setting applies to all users (and hunt groups, which VM essentially sees as a user) through the "No User" user.

i have a problem with an ip office 3.1 (65) voicemails cutting out, does the same apply for this or is it just version 4, is it correct you would put in the VM_TRUNCATE_TIME=(then for example 7) ??
