I'm using VMPro v4. Here's the setup I'd like to setup, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I'm sure it is something simple, but it's a Monday.

I want a user to call in to a Hunt Group voicemail box and then be presented with a Menu. I want them to press 1 to enable membership in two hunt groups for their extension or press 2 to disable membership in two hunt groups.

Is this possible? If so how would I go about configuring this?

J.

why so complicated with dialing into the voicemail for this?
simply tell them to dial the shortcode to enable huntgroup or disable it.
You make a new shortcode feature "huntgroup enable" and another one with feature "huntgroup disable" then they dial it from the phone and done. It logs them into all huntgroups and out of all huntgroups.
Cheers

Westi,
Thanks for the reply. The reason for the complication is because I want to track this via the SMDR. We're going to use this like a time clock.

J.

I think you can not do this to see it in SMDR but i never tried go i could be wrong

But CCC can report this but is expensive just for this :)

The new CCR (sbcc) can have reason code for DND so that could also be an option, but it is not out yet

tlpeter,
Correct, you can't see when the short code is used, however the call in to that specific hunt group or extension would show up in the SMDR.

I tried to transfer to a system shortcodes from the Voicemail and it didn't work, even when I transferred to a User that is forwarded to a shortcode it didn't work so I am not sure if it will work, but maybe someone has a better option.

you'll need to create the same ShortCode in VMPro, otherwise it will not work.

I actually was able to play around a do a different setup:

Have a short code to enable the HG1: *98
Have a short code to enable the HG2: *96
Hunt Group 600 with a message saying "Logged In"

Create a button on the phone to dial:
*98,*96,600

One question: If I wanted to have a menu select automatically fed via the button, how would I go about doing that? I've tried using a D as well as several ,. Example:
*98,*96,600D1
*98,*96,600,,,1

I get no joy from either of those. Suggestions?

J.

Try to use a 1....9 instead of a *

like so;

198,196,600D1
or
198,196,600,,,1

The *'s could give you problems also in VMPro.
