VM Transfer Question! Yes Another one!!

I follow all the various ways described here to enable direct to voicemail transfer on an IP Office system by programming a system short code,
But I can only get the voice mail prompt asking for extension number and then password which is not good for transferring callers to someones VM Box.
What am I doing wrong??
I am ready top give up! If I dial the short code for Direct2VM *97 at a phone without doing anything else I get the leave message greeting which means I have the short code correct, except I dont get that greeting on a transfer, I have tried transfer, *97, transfer and every other combo and I still get "Enter ext and password, etc..
Any help appreciated.

Create a short code ie. #201 the telephone number as "#nameofextention"(the nameofextention should be the exacally as it appears for the user. The feauture as voicemail collect.

I done this on my ipoffice and works fine.
