Sir
In the Visual Foxpro, I am collecting the report from .dbf file using the syntax
? <List of Variable>
But I use do while case and various logic inside the loop. Hence I can't collect the details using the report format.
So I am compelled to use the ? to print the records details.

I am suppose to use the Dot Matrix Printer.

If I use so, the printed text is not perfectly aligned.

That is the first line and the second line does not align perfectly.

Will you please give me a solution for this.
If you need I can upload the program with database also.

You posted this question earlier, in thread184-1794351.

Did you see my reply, which was to suggest that you use the report designer instead of the ? command? That advice still applies.

Mike

We understand you're saying your code for printing is complex, you may stay with what you have using ?? or even ??? through the generic Text printer driver, but most important of all is using a monospaced font like Courier. To get everything you're used to from DOS maybe use Foxfont.

Besides that, instead of ? you can collect all the data inside rows of a cursor and then use that for an FRX report and in the doing run much of the things you do like creating a grid with line characters is much easier using a report, so finally you'd scrap your code and instead use a report which can even look much better, create you much better readable PDFs, etc.

If you want to stick with all your code you better also stick with DOS and your dot matrix ptrinter, though.

Bye, Olaf.
