VIOS configuration:
one physical adapter en0
one Virtual en1 (set Trunk=true, 802.10=yes, and add VLAN ID=100)
make SEA "en2"
make vlan:
mkvdev -vlan ent3 -tagid 100,

assume that en2's IP: 172.64.1.100
VIOS can access internet.

Client's configuration:
a Virtual en0, also set VLAN ID=100
en0's ip: 172.64.1.101, all the mask, gateway is the same with VIOS

But I can not ping VIOS or gateway or internet on Client.

What did I make wrong?
thank you!

Hello, I am Nikolai NG, come from Carton, China. I love here.

well i didn't do this for a long time (configuring VIO virtual ent with a client) but are you sure the profiles for both the VIO and the client set correctly! i remember that there is procedure to be followed in configuring them!

Have you tried the traceroute command from the client?

traceroute 172.64.1.100

Khalid

Thank you,
and I knew why. ahaha
It's all because of the VLAN ID,
If I set the Client's VLAN ID the same with VIO en1 (The one through SEA to physical, and then to internet)

then it work!!!

If created another Client "Client2", and set the same VLAN ID(100) with Virtual en0,
then Client1 & Client2 can ping each other. it make up a LAN.
