I'm running redhat6.2 which is receiving a ip address from a dhpc sever. The problem is the slow response time i get when i ping the router, switch, or other clients on my network. It's taking about 30 to 60 seconds on response time. I have no problems with other pcs running windows 98. Any suggestions, thanks.

Have you tried running "traceroute" to the switch, router or any other machines on the network? Try that, the command is:

traceroute {ip address or hostname} you will see the connections as they are traced, whichever connection takes the longest to get to may be where your problem has started. You might also want to run "top" to see if you have any runaway processes clogging the network.

Run "netstat -irn" also. d3funct

The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.
