VDN Measured: Out of Internal

When I create a new VDN and try to set the Measured to Internal I am getting the message that none are available. I've taken a few old VDN's that are no longer being used and removed them, but I can see this is going to be an on-going problem unless I can increase the number of Internal measurements available. Is there anyway to do this in our Definity G3 ver 9.05?

Also, can someone explain what the difference is between Internal and External and what they do?

Thanks

Mike

Hello,

I believe Internal is only for BCMS reporting, and External would be for CMS or other tools that need to monitor those VDN's.

Barry

That makes sense. I wonder if that means it's a BCMS limitation and not a PBX limitation?

Thanks

Mike

Yup, with BCMS you can only monitor 99 skills, not sure how many VDN's, definitely not a PBX limitation.

Barry

That's an information you can have when you use the "display capacity" command, on page 2 (BCMS).

The values on the "system limit" column depend of the number of RTU you have bought.

Thanks, Barry!

Additionally, the BCMS limits on G3v9:

G3si(Prologix) & G3i - 99 VDNs

G3r - 512 VDNs

Thanks for the info. We do have a G3i and we are maxed out at 99 VDN's being monitored on the Disp Cap page.

I can see it's time to see if there are any VDN's that can be cleaned out or if we are using all of the ones we are monitoring.

Thanks again for the info. Once again this site has helped me out.
