Hello,
I am working in Microsoft Access 97 with tables linked to MS SQL Server 2000. The users have access to directly open the tables and will not budge on having this functionality.

There is a field that I would only like to allow a specific list of values to be entered in. I am familiar with validation rules for local Access tables, but can you do something similar with a linked table?

OR

Is there an event that is fired when a table is closed or a row is modified in a linked table that I can script against (something like a SQL Server trigger)?

Set up the rule on the SQL box - then it cannot be bypassed.
