Using stored procedures with subreports

I am new to subreports. I need to write a report that contains a linked subreport. I use Sybase and Crystal Reports 8.5.
I wrote a simple procedure that calls another procedure inside but, when I called it from Crystal, I noticed that only the result set returned from the main procedure is available to the report.
How can I implement the main report and the subreport using the 2 sp's?

Crystal will only read the last resultset returned from a stored procedure.Don't call your subreport stored proc from your main stored proc, just insert a subreport into the main report and set it's datasource to the subreport stored proc. Then set the subreport links ie: link parameters from the sub report to fields in the main report
