I actually have a license "NT Cluster Client". How can i configure on the client setup to backup both physical cluster node?

I've set the saveset to ALL for both nodes. But only local drives are backed up. The share storage is from a SAN. The cluster node acccess the share through a HBA card.

I guess my configuration is not correct. Someone highlight to me the correct config?

You obviously did not specify a client resource for the virtual node.

Hi 605,

It will not backed up all resources if i set the saveset to ALL?

This is my first time backing up a cluster. And how can i specify the client resources in the "client setup".

Hope that you would be able to help me on this.

You must define 3 clients:
- 1 for each physical client (both nodes)
- 1 for the virtual client

You may leave the save set entry to All.

You need at least 2 cluster client licenses (one for each physical node). This is needed when the cluster service is up. The virtual node does not need a license.

However, a lot of customers also do backups if the cluster is down. In this case you need 1 'normal' client license for each node.

Now i've specify a virtual node and the cluster resources to backup.

i still have could not backup the cluster resources even networker detected there is no copy of full backup of the saveset.

I've tried specifying the saveset to be ALL for this virtual node. And the result is i could backup local drives but not cluster resource.

Any idea what is wrong?

Try to set the save set entry explicitely to the shared drives and avoid ALL. Will it then work?

Look at the following threads:

Pay attention to:

- creating a file on each physical node called:
nsr\bin\pathownerignore

- in the virtual client resouce, specify the backup comand as: save -s virtual_node_name

- make sure you applied the latest Microsoft patches

- can you perform a manual backup?
