Hi,

I am using ioctl with uscicmd driver, in the 3G LSI Sas hba, when there is a check condition, the sense bytes are
returned normally, however, when a 6G LSI Sas hba is used, when there is a check condition, bad sense bytes are
returned.

Is there a solution for solving the bad sense bytes problem?

Also let me know if I am not posting in the right forum.

generally a bad sense occurs if a command between the disk controller and raid adapter is not understood, since drives/controllers firmwares are writen at different times, not always tested together, they occur often. Most of the time the sense errors will not affect stability; if the drives are stable under stress, I would not worry about it. The only thing you can do is update the raid controller's and drive firmwares, and the drivers. If updating the firmwares, particularly the drives, insure you have a backup.
I have a few raid servers with sense errors, such as Dells servers, with "uncertified" drives, no problems.
