OS: Mandrake 9.0
Device: Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical (USB)

Problem: When I logout from KDE or GNOME or any other session, the mouse stops working - it is still online, as the optical stuff is working, but it doesn't react to the motion. When I restart the X server by pressing ALT-E, the mouse works again until I logout or the systems goes and returns from standby.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

If memory serves (hehehee, and THAT'S questionable sometimes!), if you're using XDM for the init 4 (or 5 in inittab), XDM does NOT use XF86Config for it's settings, I think it has it's own.
If I'm wrong, the other thing to check would be if you're mouse driver is modular (it sounds like it's being unloaded from XWindows when you exit, and XDM isn't loading it back up).
