What would be the best APC UPS backup for a phone system?
Think I can think of to consider are battery life; do you need more or less than a half hour, one of my considerations is size, and management; how can you access it's interface or would you not need an interface for a phone system...are these even viable questions?

Thanks

Go to and select "selector" on the top menu.

enter your system manufacturer and follow the instructions. It will size out the UPS you require for the specific equipment you have.

Use the selector "advanced selector" to get specific.

I would also have a look at the Invensys Powerware UPS systems. (Avaya OEM's from them). Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.

In terms of interfacing with the UPS, you have few options:
1. Hook up the serial cable to your PC, when you need to interface w/the UPS.
2. Hook up the serial cable to a PC dedicated to monitoring the UPS
3. Fork over the $$ to get the SNMP NIC and monitor the UPS over your LAN. see
