I have an IP500 V1 system licenced with voicemail PRO running version 4.2 and would like to upgrade it to Version 8.0+
Is it just the following license that I need to get it working:
267792 IPO LIC UPG R8.0

or do I have to purchase 267786 which is IPOR8+ ESSNTL EDITION+LIC ( I am assuming that since VMPRO is preferred edition already I do not need the Essential edition licence)

the Avaya knowledgebase is not quite clear about the upgrade requirements.

No, you only will need the upgrade licence. (Andy will confirm, I hate licensing)

Indeed only the (big) upgrade license.
But you must keep in mind that when you have IP phones that you have enough VCM channel licenses otherwise oyu will end up in tears!!!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

to elaborate more to tlpeters VCM licenses, each VCM channel licensed will convert into 3 IP endpoint licenses and the VCM module will be fully functional on all channels without license.
If you have 8 channels licensed on 4.2 but 25 IP sets then you are 1 IP endpoint license short and need to buy it before the upgrade

westi in that scenario are you missing the 12 he will get with the vcm card?

Indeed Westi , you need a holiday :)

A VCM 32 came with free 4 VCM channels.
For migrating Avaya gives 3 * the amount of VCM channels licensed on the system + the 4 free VCM channels.
So a VCM32 gives you 12 IP endpoint licenses.
When you have another 24 channels licensed then you get another 72 IP endpoint licenses with a total of 84.
