Upgrading a Partner Mail VS R3.0 with Partner Messaging on a Partner Plus R4.0 system. Is there a slot on the Partner Mail VS module to put the a Large Messaging PCMCIA card?

I'm not 100% sure what what you are trying to do.

Are you looking to put an Partner Voice Messaging card in one of the front slots of a Partner Mail VS Module?

or

Are you trying to upgrade from a Partner Mail VS to an Avaya Partner Messaging and are looking to use the same PCMCIA card? [ponder]

Lets see, If I read this right....
Your upgrading the Mail with a Partner messaging. The Large Messaging PCMCIA card isnt needed, and not used in conjunction with the Partner messaging itself. The PC card is a seperate voice mail. But what you need to place in the slot of the Partner Messaging is a License card (2port, 4 port or 6 Port). With out that card the VM will never leave test mode. Program as needed.

I'm sorry for not being more precise with my wording. I'm moving a Partner Plus system to a new location, and the system currently has Partner Mail VS R3.0. The sales team wants to "upgrade" them with Partner Messaging (PCMCIA card)...from my knowledge i know these cards are inserted in the Partner ACS Proc. I'm just not sure if Partner Messaging is compatible with the old Partner Plus system...?

there are no slots in the partner plus to insert the card

upgrade them to a acs 6 ..don't use 7

or I think you can use Partner messaging module , I know they are backward compatible and work with partner 11 . I'm not sure about plus

I'll look it up later unless somebody else confirms

It won't work.

The Partner Voice Messaging card will only work with the Partner ACS processor.

Your choices with the Partner Plus are the Partner Mail VS and the Avaya Partner Messaging.

Given the age of the system, this might be a good time to retire the Partner Plus and upgrade to the Partner ACS. At that point, you will be able to use the Partner Voice Messaging card.

In addition, the batteries that keep the Partner ACS programming intact are user replaceable as opposed to the Partner Plus.

ok you can use the module if you have rel 3.1 or better on the plus

# The Partner Messaging R6.0 is
compatible with Partner Plus or Partner II systems release 3.1 or higher.

I think he mentioned R4.0 somewhere in his opening remarks.

Thanks for the help fellas i appreciate it!!!
