upgrading a 500v2 from 6.0 to 8.1

license software upgrade 6 installed no problem

after upgrade it says invalid licenses no essential present and the dongle says none

any ideas?

it shows no license key number?
maybe a defective SD card (buggered up somehow) try and recreate it if you do not have embedded vm then you won't lose a thing, if you do then I would explore other options first but don't ask me which as I have no idea at the moment.

Always put in a real +32 Essential unless you like living on the edge. If they won't take your word put the risk in writing. If the control unit has problems then it's an extra charge for the customer later on. Being surprised with this at a time when they need prompt support affects the customer's preceived value of their product and the installers corporate image.

Did you go to 8.0 before 8.1?

if not it tends not to put the virtual essential edition licence in. Avaya do reecomend you take it to 8.0 first then check the essential edition licence has been created before progressing to 8.1

so when i got onsite i pulled the power popped out the sd card, then popped it back in and booted it back up.

Everything came up and its at 8.1

virtual essential in there and all

its strange though because i must have rebooted 4 or 5 times remotely and that didnt bring it back...

If it is running secondary software then the SD card is not seen by the IPO.
This can be a broken card or corrupted card or no card at all.

yea im going to swap sd cards in all the units. they come back fully and clear the alarms after a few reboots and popping sd cards in and out, but i am going to put new ones in to be safe

Check the PCS number on the SD cards and if it is a SanDisk.
If it is a SanDisk then swap it.
They seem to break.
