Hi All.

I have an IP Office 500 v2 going from 9.1.1.xxx to 9.1.4.xxx

I connected my laptop to the system, did the File -> Advanced -> Upgrade and when I went to upgrade, it failed. At this point, I did a default of the passwords from File -> Erase Security Settings (Default). The program was exited, and when I re-connected to the IP Office, it made me choose new password... which was fine.

The upgrade was attempted again, and using the new password, the upgrade went fine. (I stopped before actually doing the upgrade ... that is cancelled out)... and tried again. Using the same password, this time it failed.

I suspected it might be a computer as the ones we are given have security software coming out the ears. Using my personal computer I had to reset the passwords again, and then re-enter new ones before it would work.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

What was the fix, if any?

Regards

Try disabling Windows Firewall on the laptop if it is not already. I've found it does some weird things when trying to upgrade.

Hi TheIPOTek.

My firewall is off. And I did a netstat to look for any strange port issues.

Hi Guys.

Think I found the problem.

The corporate computers, thanks to corporate paranoia, have mcaffee running and blocking all sorts of ports... which would explain why that computer won't connect.

I can't prove this but I think that when the corporate machine tries to connect is must mess something up with the passwords.

I have used my non-corporate computer successfully and then, not letting any of the guys with corporate machines touch the ip office was able to connect and get the upgrade no problem.

Thanks for all of your help.

Regards
