hi members,

i downloaded loadlin.exe and did the following steps,

copied loadlin.exe to c:copied vmlinuz-2.4.18-3 to c:\linux
created a linux.bat file in which i wrote
smartdrv cloadlin c:\linux\vmlinuz-2.4.18-3 root=\dev\hda3
/*/dev/hda3 is the partition where linux is stored*/

now after executing linux.bat i get the error

*** img file missing ***

i copied intrd-2.4.18-3.img to c:\linux directory
but it also didn't work

can u tell me the solution, b'se boot disks are very unreliable.

bye...

How do you execute linux.bat??
What is that 'smartdrv c\' line doing??
Why are boot disks unreliable??

double click the linux.bat to run it.
i copied "smartdrv c\" line from one example on net
boot disks are unreliable b'se floppy disks can get corrupted any time.
if we are able to boot from dos to linux, then we will not have any fear of loosing the boot loader of linux.
i really need the linux loader from dos.
