we have a site where the customer is using external authentatication to a ldap server.

The system is 1000e with release 7.5 and when we try to log on using the admin account it fails but if we put this account details in the customer's ldap server it works ok.

this goes against the sequence which is ldap first then local.

have you this working and did you have to import some sort of certificate ?

books are very sketchy on subject

i don't have it working,

but what you might be having is an issue where UCM is trying to access the external authentication server, and failing to authenticate the account because it does not exist (on LDAP).

so, if LDAP or the external authentication server was down (and did not respond) your local (UCM)account might work.
