Can't use FNE to enable/disable EC500...when I call 2898 or 2899, I get fast busy. Also posted list trace at the bottom. Am I missing something? We just moved from CM2.2 to CM6.3, so trying to get the bugs out.

What's 1469? Not a phone on your PBX I hope!

FNEs are only dialable by off-pbx telephones as a means to invoke features. So, in "off-pbx station-mapping" you'd have either a cell or a basic SIP phone, and by dialing those extensions, you invoke those features.

Examples would be EC500 lite for iPhone - where you map PSTN DIDs to the feature keys in the app. You press "send all calls enable" on the iPhone and it would dial the DID mapped to the extension mapped to the FNE for "send all calls" and the PBX would lookup in "off-pbx station-mapping" and see the CLID for your cell phone is the ec500# of your desk phone and the PBX would then activate that feature for your extension.

The list trace is my extension, 1469.

Before we upgraded from CM2.2, I was able to dial 2898/2899 from my desk, also had DID's mapped to those extensions. When I called the DID from my cell, it would turn on or off EC500 accordingly.

And I don't know how ec500 worked in CM2 but there's always been tweaks to it. In CM6, you should just have an EC500 key on your phone and turn it on/off that way from your desk. The FNEs (as I understand it) are only meant to be dialed from outside the system.

I'm going to check some documents though!

no kyle you are right, their cell phone would be mapped so they would need to call in from their cell phone to activate or deactivate the fne feature

I appreciate the response. I do have a toggle button on my phone.

These are extensions on the system. IF you can send a DID to them, you can certainly dial them from a desk phone. My DID's are playing disconnected number message.

Here is a trace of the trunk when I call the DID. It shows mapping to the FNE, but it is not working.

Make sure your cell is in "off-pbx station-mapping" for "application" EC500 and sometimes the prefix in there can mess you up.

As in, don't have your cell number be "1-xxx-xxx-xxxx" but instead "xxx-xxx-xxxx" with a dial prefix of 1

Well, it appears the system is not translating my cell number to my extension. On my old system, if I were to call in from my cell, it would show my extension on the display as opposed to my cell number. This is definitely not helping my problem.

Sorry.. I just reread your post. The dial prefix should not affect your issue of enanble/disable (it could however affect EC500 from calling your cell )

You will need to add FNE Idle Appearance Select: xxxx (make sure it is DID )

From the cell ( or whatever external phone # you have on your off pbx sta mapping) call the FNE Idle Appearance Select, when you hear dial tone enter the FNE Off-Pbx Call Enable: 2898 / disable 2899

Thanks, ddog6601, for the response.

EC500 outbound to cell works perfect.

I think my main issue right now is the system does not see my cell correctly on inbound. When I call my office, the phones show my cell number, not my extension. I think that is where my problem lies.

there is no reason to call the Idle Appearance first - the FNE should work from your cell, but to activate EC500 direct from your desk - you can either dial the Feature Code ( page 2 of change feature) or press the ec500 button on the phone.

I had no trouble with my old system just calling the act/deact DID's. I think it's not working because the system is not seeing my cell number correctly.

mikeg826... how are you activating / deactivating ec500 from your cell without calling Idle appearance and entering the FNE Off-Pbx Call Enable FNE ?

ddog6601, you set DID's to the FNE for act/deact. Call the number, and hear confirmation tone. Done. That is the way my old CM2.2 system worked. Hoping the new and improved system will also work that way.

mike826... Thanks

84Mike... What does page two and three look like for your change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping 1469

Thanks all for the help. I have resolved the issue. Slight change from CM2.2 to CM6.3 in the off-pbx configuration set...

New field 'Calling Number Verification?' needed to be changed to 'n'. Now the system is treating my cell phone as my extension.

Thanks again. This forum is wonderful for info, which is why I wanted to post the solution; just in case someone else has the same issue down the road. [bigsmile]

Good Job figuring it out !
Strange though because I have always had 'Calling Number Verification set to "Y" and it is working. Interesting...
