Transfer from mailbox to extension

Ok, we just upgraded from Octel to MM and also upgraded the Communications Manager to the latest/greatest.

Problem: The recording in a mailbox says: ".... if you need immediate assistance please call 1356." In the Octel system the caller just dialed the 1356 and they were transfered to station 1356. How do we accomplish this in MM? If you try to press an extension you get some beeps and a "please continue recording your message".
 
You will need to build a caller application or change the auto attn on the MM.

It depends on how the call is getting to the greeting and where the greeting is.

How and where did you record the greeting you are using?

The greeting is in a subscriber mailbox and the caller got there through coverage. Even in the old Audix systems you could dial *Tnnnn and get to another extension. I guess I did not even consider that this option was not a standard on all voice-mail systems. Every salesman I ever worked with had similar greetings in their mailboxes. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Dawn you can set the Personal Attendant of the mailbox(es) to 1356 and then record at the end of the greeting "if you need ... please press 0" which will send the call to 1356. Otherwise you could have a caller application like Ken mentioned but that can get a bit complex depending on the way you build and the number of mailboxes that need that feature. I'm not sure of the # but there is a limit to how many caller applications you can deploy.
