hey,

is there a tool within vb that searches for functions and procedures that is not in use?

As I go throught the code in my database I sometimes see procedures and functions that is identical, exept for the name of course. For example, if I replace a button with a new one, the old button's code does not get replaced with it.

any ideas?
:)

sought by many ... delivered by none (so far as I know). Ms .A. Dependencies MAY be a start, But I believe it only works with the higher level objects (e.g. here "Module" or "Form". Also, this tool only shows ACTUAL Dependancies, omitting orphans.

Maybe your hand (right or left will do)!

Rename the sub-function, compile the code. If it is ok then the code is an orphan, else undo renaming. Just play with a copy.

Be aware though, that this method shall not provide orphaned subs-functions, that are called form other orphaned subs-functions.
