After the latest upgrade, Thunderbird is almost working! 
I have re-installed the software.
Windows 7, Asus laptop.
The software works, as it is. But I can not do many things, such as access the address book, write a new message and much more.
However, it is possible to maintain the account settings, to empty trash and some other things.
To look at new messages, I can not just click and look... I must "open in new tab" to look at messages.
I have run different kind of maintenance software on the computer such as CCleaner, Defraggler, Eusing Free Registrycleaner... recently Malware... I'm not a gamer and I don't install warez just to try. I don't collect either music or films.
Thunderbird is working but not "all the way!" It's really difficult to tell, what it could be!
Any one any clue!?
