I don't see the TFTP service running on the manager server. I am trying to install an IP4624 phone and it will not update the 46xx firmware. Don't to have TFTP running on the manager box to upload that file to the IP phone? Where would I find the application for TFTP to install it?

Manager is the TFTP app. Just ensure that it is running when the phones are restarted and start requeting files.

You can use third party TFTP apps to provide the files if you want.

Here is what TFTP log says:

Fri 30/1/2004 16:42:20 : Failed to send 46XXUPGRADE.SCR ...sent 0 of 0 bytes
Fri 30/1/2004 16:42:22 : Failed to send 46XXUPGRADE.SCR ...sent 0 of 0 bytes
Fri 30/1/2004 16:42:26 : Failed to send 46XXUPGRADE.SCR ...sent 0 of 0 bytes

Check the pereferences of manager are set to 255.255.255.255

also check the working dirrectory/binary directore are set to the correct location for the files

(Programfiles/avaya/ipoffice/manager by default)

If you have more than a couple of IP Phones I would also suggest configuring an external DHCP server the one built into the IPO is crap (it is known to issue duplicate addrs if it recieves muptiple simultanious DHCP requests)

This is a standard error when using IP Phones. You need to follow the tech bullinten and Rem out the enrty from the boot files so that it does not try and get this file.

If you wish to DISABLE the IR port on the IP phone (Reccomended) or change the e0 port settings you can install this file and follow the IP Phone settings guide from the LAN IP Phone Admin Guide. Also alsiable form the AVAYA website.

Not Quire MrIPO 46xxupgrade.scr controls which version of firmware is loaded by the IP phone & should be located in the manager directory

46xxsettings is the optional file that should br remmed out if not required (this is now the default on the GA 2.0(16) CD's

Whopps, my Badge, should pay more attention !!!
