Text grid location/guide location 1

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me, is there a way to find the exact grid location of some? Or to be able to place the text at a specific location? Also, can I place a guide at a specific location (not by dragging the guide but by entering coordinates)?

Hi,

Yes you can find the exact pixel location and place something at an exact pixel location.

On the layer with your object press Ctrl+T (free transform) then along the options bar at the top there are a couple of text fields. One has an X: next to it and one a Y: That is where you can find out where the image is placed and you can modify the placement if you need to.

As for specifying the exact location of guides, I don't think it can be done. You just jave to drag them out. However, if you use a simple box and specify the placement as mentioned above then you can drag a guide and it will snap to the edge of the box and your guide will be at the correct location.
