text formatting question, quick 1

Hello once again

Just a quick Q

In a text box i formatted font etc and paragraph alignment to say left la di da, but unlike Word and similar when a word is too long half of it goes on to the next line e.g.

dfgdfgddf fgdfgfdg dfgdsfgfg dfgdfgdsfg dsfgdfgdf dfgdsfgg he-
llo


Hope that makes sense i want to get rid of the splitting up words so they fall on to the next line is that possible,

Have you checked to make sure your hyphenation is turned off?
 
Umm no thats the bloody word i was lloking for hyphenation LOL
how do you do it thanks
 
paragraph (or par style) window - uncheck "hyphenate".

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
