Hi all,

I've been doing Telephony work for about 2 years now and I really enjoy it. Are there any certifications out there for this line of work?

Yes most all the manufactures offer certification courses but you will have to pay to go to them, some of them you can do over the internet.

Don't understand your ?, What do you mean by vendor neutral

BICSI has some courses that you may consider. Their website is @ You can start with installer levels and work your way on up from their to RCDD RCDD/OSP RCDD/Network Specialist. These courses are not free but I beleive worth the money.

Most of the time when you go to a course from a vendor your company pays for the course and it is only a valid certificate while you work for that company. change companies and the cert is dropped by the vendor.

Learning tree do an excellent "Introduction to telecommunications" course which is 5 days long and covers a load of stuff including VOIP, Mobile technologies and all the main basic stuff like how ISDN works etc.
