Syntax advice 1

Can someone advise me the correct syntax for this line, I gave tried with and without the If statement on the second part. Thanks.

if($_POST['cancel1']) || if($_POST['cancel2'])
 
it should be:

if(($_POST['cancel1']) || ($_POST['cancel2']))

have to surround the whole thing with parenthesis
