Can somebody explain what these symbol set mean. Is it
UPC-A and UPC-B? My documentation doesn't explain any further.

I am actually looking for the PCL code for UPC-A.

Please help!

upc-a is a barcode, not a symbol set.

A symbol set is character mappings.

It is possible that a printer with internal upc-a fonts may also have a symbol set dedicated to it.

As far as I know, there is no PCL defined upc-a symbol set.

Thanks Jim

The reason why I "guessed" UPC-A and UPC-B is that, in documentation, this symbol set is together with the code 3 of 9 barcode symbol set.

While documentation specifically mentions Bar code for 3 of 9 symbol set id, it doesn't say anything for these symbol sets.

The symbol set id's are OCA-A(0O) and OCR-B(1O). (zero letter O and 1 letter O).

Cheers!

It sounds as though they are talking about optical character recognition(OCR) fonts. I believe that there are both OCR-A and OCR-B. Nothing to do with barcodes at all.

Continuing our discussions on this topic.

If I want to get UPC-A and UPC-B barcodes to print, what is the best approach?

I am using Lexmark T630 printer.

Is there a software I can buy which has built-in PCL codes for UPC-A and UPC-B.

I did some research on the net which tells me something along this line.
