Swap an extension with another

I have a Definity G3 switch and need to swap two users extensions. What is the commands to do this?

There are many different methods. Are they both the same type of station (i.e. digital, analog, ip, hybrid)? If so you can use the TTI method from the stations if you know the code, or log into the switch display both extensions. Write down each port. Change one station and enter X as the port number. Then change the other station and enter the first station's port number. Then go back to the first station and enter the second station's port nyumber. If they are two different types of stations, then you must physically move the cross connect to the physical jack where you want the station to be located.

What do you mean use Gui....swap stations

Can you explain that. I have ASA software.

under the "general" tab at the bottom there is a "swap stations" function, enter the numbers you need to swap and it will complete the job

To do this manually, do a display station for each number and make a note of the port locations

change the first station, put an "x" in the port field
then change the second station and enter the port location from station 1
then change the first station again and put station 2's port

the numbers should now be swapped, as susan says this will not work with IP phones, you can just log these out and back in as the new ext
