Hi all,
I have a little problem with lines. My report have many fileds that are separated by lines. I can't use borders on fields to separate them, because some fields can grow, and then they look strange. My problem is when I try suppres some fields - then i can't suppres lines near this fields - how can I suppres line (or box) ?

hi
create a section below your field an place the line in it and from the format section select the x2 suppress buttom and place crieteria there to suppress

Another option would be to insert text boxes to create the lines, where you show only the sides you want, and can use a formula to conditionally suppress the lines.

sorry, Durrango, but I don't understand your idea. I have something like this:

| field_1 | field_2 | field_3 | field_4 |

and try to suppress field_2 nad field_3 . I can suppress only fields not lines, and theen I have:
| field_1 | | | field_4 |

I need to suppres that line between fields - I don't now why propose You, put the lines into another section - can You explain me?

Hi LB,
What is text boxes? Are You think about text fields with borders? I can't use text fields because their borders are to bold for me, I need hairline width lines and borders are much bolder.

I meant a text object, because it gives you conditional suppression options, but if the lines are too thick, then you'll need to continue using your inserted lines. Try inserting a section above the one in which you are currently placing the lines, and move the lines there. Format the new section in the section expert to "underlay following sections". You can then select the new section->suppress->x+2 and enter your suppression criteria there.
