I know it must be on station 10 or 11,
can it work with both 18D & 34D ?
Power, I read the link in the other post to the avaya web site it lists a "blue tinted cord" which I don't have
I remember a bunch of the smaller black power supplys that a regular 3 wire AC cord went into on end and the other side had had the phone cords, do I need to get one of those or hardwire 48 volts to the white/brown pair ?

Use the adaptor/cable combination or hardwire it all inside a jack...either way, it will work with an 18D or 34D. The limitation is not the set type, but rather the total number of CA48 adjuncts.

thanks for the info, one thought/update the part number listed in the avaya web site for adapter doesn't come up as Valid, (according to the Local Avaya Dealer) but they are supposed to get back to me, other wise is it +48 on pin 7 and gnd on pin 8 or do I have it reversed ?

One other update on the CA48 and the power supply I knew from other posts it was pin 7 & 8 that the power supply put voltage on, and it was 48 volt DC, after I showed the avaya rep the specific document from the avaya web site they had it and it was only $25
well to be more specific it's positive on pin 8 and negative on pin 7 In My case the "kit" consist of 3 things a plug in transformer KS-22911 mfg by James electronics,(output 48vdc & 200ma)(RJ12 Plug on the bottom using they yellow/black pins) a regular 4 wire phone cord and a adapter 400B2 which has one RJ11/12 connector & one RJ45 for feeding to the phone, so in short, if you have a CA48, you could get a alternate power supply of the same rating however you would need to carefully observe the polarity on the respective pins, (for fear of blowing it up)
