Subreport within a subreport

Hello,

I need to know if it's possible to have a subreport within a subreport. Right now when I load up my on demand subreport1 it doesn't display the on demand subreport2 that's located within it. If I load the subreport1 on its own (make it the source of the crystal report viewer on the webform) it displays the subreport2 within it just fine. Can someone please give me some insight on this?

you can't nest subreports. you can't have a subreport inside another subreport

Subreports can only be in 1 level deep, hence the sub-sub not working.

Since you want on-demand subreports, why don't you try launching a new report from a hyperlink - you should be able to nest them this way...

For Crystal 8.5, you could export Subreport2 and re-import it as an independent subreport in the main report. This function is found under [File] when you are in the Subreport.

Passing data might be a problem, but can be solved, perhaps using Shared Variables.

Another design possibility is to promote Subreport 1 to be the main report and drop down the main report to be a separate subreport.
