Hi all,
I want to use a Linux(FC4) NFS server with AIX(5.3.D) NFS client (any NFS version accpeted).
It works for some test machine on my network, but fails for some others with the following message:

/usr/sbin/mknfsmnt -f '/Linux' -d '/backup/am' -h 'linuxserver' '-N' '-a' -t 'ro' -w 'fg' -K '3' -k 'udp' '-Y' '-Z' '-X' '-H' '-j' '-q' '-g'
mount: 1831-010 server linuxserver not responding: RPC: 1832-008 Timed out
mount: retrying
linuxserver:/backup/am

So, it seems to be an error on the Aix client. Do you have an idea ?
THanks.

are all these AIX clients on the same network?? Any firewalls blocking UDP?? verify the ports used are open on the AIX clients since your nfs mount is UDP only make sure that the non working AIX clients are accepting UDP check

Yes they are: 1X2.1X.109.<this only change>
There are no firewall.
They are not on the same switch.
Note that I try udp, tcp ... it is the same result !

Can it be a switch issue ???

verify that the failing servers have the same services as the working ones use "lssrc -a

All rpc services seems to be there !

CAn it be a timeout NFS issue ? How can I increase the timeout of the RCP ?

I see that nfsrgyd is running on the non working systems which means your running nfs V4

nfsrgyd daemon
Services translation requests between names and ids from servers and clients using NFS V4 or RPCSEC-GSS.
