I would like to store some attachments in an SQL Server db and also view them using ASP. Has anyone got any ideas or code samples to do this?

Thanks

one solution is to store the attachments just as regular files within your filesystem, and use SQL to keep track of the path and filename.

if the files are large, you do not gain any performance improvement from storing them in the DB, in fact i think it is the reverse. you also just end up making the database much larger than it needs to be, and if you have thousands and thousands of records your DB seek performance will surely suffer.

also, see
good luck!
