SantaMufasa had a great reply to thread759-1363380. I am needing to take it a little further and see the query that is actually causing the lock. Is there a way to do that?

Terry,

IMHO, the best way to write code is to not have to write it at all. <grin> I, personally, like the functionality of TOAD where I can not only see every session, but (among many other things) the SQL it is running, along with the locks it creates and any locks that might be blocking its progress.

Do you have access to TOAD?

Actually, I do have access to it, just haven't got used to using it. So many things you can do there that I get a little lost. If you can point me in the right direction that would help.

I think I would still want a query eventually as some of my offshore team does not have access to TOAD. I'll keep searching the interwebs to see what I can find.

Off topic - It's great to see you are still an active member of this site. You have a lot of knowledge that has helped me and MANY others. I used to be a round table member, but since I haven't been able to be online as much, it looks like that was revoked. But I really appreciate everything you and other members of this site provide.

Did a search in help and found the locks tab in the Session Browser.

Thanks again Dave.

Sorry, Terry, that I didn't get back to you earlier. I'm glad that you were able to find what you needed in TOAD.

Thanks for your kind words. It's rewarding to participate/contribute to Tek-Tips. It feels like family here doesn't it. [2thumbsup]

Good luck,
