Hi,
In C.R. 8.5, I used to modify the SQL query sent to the database. But on opening this report in version 9, I am getting an error complaining about SQL syntax. Is there a difference in syntax of 8.5 and 9, I mean crystal reports should be forward compatible, isn't it? However, if I reset the query in version 9, then the reports work, but I might not get the intended results.

Please help me with this. thanks...

It is my understanding that the SQL in CR9 is very similar to MS SQL, which is Transit SQL. I don't know about 8.5 so I can't comment on it.

Hi Samit700,

as far as I remember, one of the differences between CR8.5 and CR9 is the support for unicodes, and the help files for CR9 make it quite clear that you if you run CR under certain circumstances you need to download the newest unicows.dll from the Microsoft website.
(Have a look at the runtime.chm in your Crystal installation).

regards
Wolfiesz
