Let me see if I can explain my request.
I have a multiple group of records. Each record set consist of header info, detail info and summary info. There is a date in the header information.
When I extract these records from my system they are not in any kind of data order. Is there a way Mercator can take in these record sets (constiting of all three; header, detail and summary) and put them in date order for my output?
 
I have a similar situation. Yes you can. This solution may be easier in newer versions but you can use sortup/down. Problem with sorting is that it's a simple left to right sort. So, you may need to rearrange the record data.

I have also loaded TP data to a table and extracted from there.


 
Thank you, I was affraid of that. To bad Mercator or IBM datastage does not have a SORTBY function. Maybe someday.
