Hi All. I've set up dumping of SMDR to HyperTerminal, and it is properly working. However, I'm trying to figure out the definitions of a few things that are within the data.

For instance, what is the "*" and "!" next to the "IN" designator? I've searched around for some ideas, but haven't come up with anything. Does anyone know?

The answer can be found on page 762 (Adobe Acrobat page 790) of the MERLIN MAGIX® Integrated System Feature Reference Release 3.0.

An asterisk essentially means that the caller disconnected before the called party (the remote hung up first). That goes for both inbound AND outbound calls. I can tell that your SMDR "Talk Time" is enabled, which means that an asterisk will also be displayed whenever if the caller abandons the call queue before talking to someone. In that case, the 'starred' call will show a total Talk Time of 00:00.

However, a Talk Time of 00:00 with an exclamation point means that the call was picked up by someone other than a Calling Group member. If an exclamation point appears and the Talk Time is not zero, then the call was successfully answered by a call group overflow.

Check out the reference I gave you. It will go over everything column by column.

Dag...

Thanks 3 tons for the reference pages in the document. That was exactly what I was looking for. There were so many documents to choose from on the avaya site, I couldn't quite nail it down.
