Hello,

I have HP LaserJet 8100 Series PCL Network printer set as my default with HP native printer driver. The preview works very quickly, but if I press Print button from the preview and select this printer, it takes at least 20 seconds of no response before starting printing from the computer. Is there any way to make the printing instantaneous?

Thanks in advance.

VFP8 or VFP9???
Is it just doing it to this printer ???

If VFP9, YOU may try adding this to your code just before the print job.

SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 80
report form ...........
SET REPORTBEHAVIOR 90

This is VFP8. All printers are Network printers. The application freezes for some time before printing. If I do

set printer to name (My Default Network printer)
report form myReport to printer noconsole

then the printing starts immediately. Otherwise it takes almost half a minute to start.

Looks like you proved it is not VFP causing the Problem. I suggest you talk to Network Types and look into your Print Server.
