Hi,

Is their a way to measure how meany lines in a trunk are used in peak times?

We use 5 isdn30 lines, and I want to check how may incoming and outgoing lines are busy in peak moments.
(during a day or week)

list performance trunk-group today
(only # off calls per day)
list measurements trunk-group summary tody-peak
(only total usage and Seize)
list measurements call-summary
(only # off calls per hour)

any other commands I can use?

thanks,
Guido

Avaya Site Administration has a trunk monitor feature that may help. Also if you have a CAS or a Call Accounting system you could run so great reports on traffic for you trunk groups.

If you do 'Monitor Traffic Trunks' you will get pretty close to real-time usage. The screen is updated every 30 seconds.

@4merAvaya

'Monitor Traffic Trunks' is great! but now I have to check realtime data.

Is there a way to see stats for a day?

We do use Centre Vu, I have admin access (only thing I have to do is adding and removing users), but I'm not familiar with this system.

For real-time monitoring, I also use the Real-Time Trunk Group Report in CMS Supervisor. I also run historical reports from CMS as well.

Susan,

your option (real-time in CMS) works fine.
Only I cannot get historical data about Real-Time Trunk Group Report.
Do you know how?

Guido

Why not try "Reports / Historical / Trunk Group / Busy Hour"

I think this will give you everything you need, I use it all the while for traffic management

Steco1958,

true, I can see the maximum nr. of call made in an hour of that day.

But, only the numer of calls (in this case nr. of calls 12/2/2005 is 588), and not how many lines are occupied.

So it's possible that there where 5000 calls with a dureation of 20 seconds, but that this only costs 10 simultainious connections.
While in an other peak hour maybe 20 lines where used.

Again how many of our 5 ISDN30 lines (=150 simultanouis connections) do we use in peak time. With that info I can ask our Telco to make a reservation for, lets say, 2 isdn30 lines for incomming, and 3 for in/out.

You should be able to work it out on the % occupancy, if you have a trunk group with 100 trunks and the busy hour states the % occupancy was 20%, then 20 trunks were used fully on that hour.

Steve

Ah! indeed, "Reports / Historical / Trunk Group / Busy Hour"
trunk1 has 35,42% occupancy at 10:00h
trunk2 has 28,10% occupancy at 11:00h

but what is for incomming and what for outgoin...

Does that matter, as you are concerned about the overall usage of the trunks, are you not??

true! If I encounter problems with complaing users, I'll ask again:)

thanks all!
